Something out of Nothing

Tonight was one of those dinners that started with some desperate standing in front of open cupboards and crouching in front of the open fridge (remember, we're living the standard London-flat life, complete with miniature fridge, so it takes some contortions to see everything inside there), thinking that we'd have to head out and get some more ingredients if we were going to eat anything resembling a balanced meal. In the end, laziness won out, and we made do with what we had, although our dinner of miso soup and chirashi-style rice, with vegetables, egg, and seaweed turned out to be pretty good, even if it was made out of an assortment of last-ditch ingredients:
Of course, now a big trip to the store (with my wheeled pull-cart in tow--a handy lifesaver which Bob STILL teases me about) is definitely in order . . .
