The Ultimate Staring Contest

We went for a neighbourhood walk on this blustery afternoon, and enjoyed the randomness of exploring side streets so close to home that we've not yet seen. This schoolyard sign reminded us that half-term was coming to an end,

and this wonderfully perfumed tree reminded us that winter was also coming to an end!

We walked through Highbury Fields

and found a few adjacent streets lined with pretty houses.

face each other across a narrow road and I smiled at the thought that the matching faces over their doors may be rather tired of gazing at each other--but what other choice do they have?
