Miffy (11 December)

The V&A Museum of Childhood reopened on 9 December after more than a year of renovations, and the first exhibit to grace the new exhibition space sounded like a good one to me.

I'll always have a soft spot for Miffy, or "the Miffster," as Angus calls her.

The exhibit was small, but interesting, with plenty of interactive parts for kids...

...or adults, as the case may be.

I forgot to get Bob's review of this Christmas tree, spotted at Camden Market, but I assume that its less "up and down" decor was more to his liking.

Regent's Canal was quiet with only a few dog-walkers and no sign of the canal-boat inhabitants.

Carnaby Street was the opposite: noisy and filled with frantic Christmas shoppers. The light display is one of the nicer high-street efforts; Christmas lights on London streets and in green spaces help distract from what is an obnoxiously early sunset (I think it was around 3:45 P.M. on this day--maybe only half-an-hour earlier than Vancouver's at this time of year, but somehow it really makes a difference).
