Mimicking Mice
Today we headed to the Barbican for a peek at a free exhibit; along the very concrete, very Brutalist walk, we stopped to survey the residential complex and interior courtyard that adjoin the Barbican arts centre.
The exhibit was fun, although flawed (the ball got stuck at one point and after the gallery attendant finally got it moving again, he mentioned that it happens all the time and it's quite a bother when more than one ball is moving along the track), and we wandered around close to the Barbican for a bit, where we came across this very bizarre structure:
Stairs that lead nowhere, with no apparent purpose, this one had us very confused. When we got home, I looked around online, and learned that it's a training structure for firefighters--a way for them to practise endurance and necessary skills on staircases. The explanation was almost disappointingly logical! After all the concrete around the Barbican, we decided to take in some more cuddly sights in Clissold Park before heading home. The goats were out for the first time in a while,
the rabbits were quite lively, hopping around more than usual (they didn't keep still long enough for a proper photo, but I kind of like the extra-long bunny that results from these two photos),
