Persimmon Withdrawal

When we stayed with my parents in Korea, we ate fresh fruit every morning for breakfast--apples, mandarin oranges, pears (the large, round, Asian ones), and lots and lots of persimmons. So when I spotted persimmons at Sainsbury's today, I thought I'd give one a try:
I found out that the fruit I bought was called a "Sharon fruit" rather than a persimmon, although this name merely seems to designate a particular variety of the fruit. My Sainsbury's purchase ended up being quite tasty, but since I only bought one, it disappeared in less time than it took me to type this!
