Man in the Moon

We had some errands to do near Piccadilly Circus, so we decided to return to Nordic Bakery to get a bit of a Scandinavian fix. They were packed on this sunny weekday, and we barely got a table
and snatched up the last cinnamon bun for today's fika. Our treat was dense and chewy, with more heft than your standard, fluffy cinnamon bun--Nordic Bakery has yet to disappoint.
After a few errands, we realised that we hadn't had lunch, and since we needed some things from a nearby Japanese supermarket, we picked up a few extras for a picnic.
We barely remember what to call this stuff, after going through sushi withdrawal and then practically forgetting (forcing ourselves to forget?) what it tastes like, but today's assortment began to remind us what we've been missing!
So far, the basement deli Yoshino (located in the Japan Centre supermarket; there's also a ground-floor Yoshino sushi restaurant in the same building, but it's very expensive) makes the only decent affordable sushi we've found in London. At £7 for today's picnic, we decided it's something we should treat ourselves to more often--after all, sushi is one of our favourite foods, and we've probably only had it four times in London, including today! Vancouver's extremely high quality and shockingly low prices have truly spoiled us. Even though I loved today's sushi, my favourite photo is this last one, of a construction site off Regent Street:
The name of the passage, the appearance of the phrase "man in the moon" in an official sign, and the seemingly random giant ice-cream cone (with a confusing array of soft-serve and hard ice cream--does anyone actually order that?) made me laugh as I spotted this strange scene out of the corner of my eye.
