No More Picnics

Well, I've been talking about it for the past week or so, but now we really have to face up to the fact that we've firmly left summer behind--it rained today for the first time in a very long time, and the view out of our living room window is quite autumnal:

The days are still comfortable, but the nights are getting very cool, and when we had our houseguests earlier this week and last week, we were flinging open the living room window at every opportunity to let in some fresh air. Now we'll soon be turning on our radiators and bundling up for October--where does the time go?
