Fruity Malt Loaf

While we were staying with Jo and Grahame in Penrith, we tried malt loaf for the first time, and I liked it quite a bit and decided to buy some today to have as treats with our coffee:
I don't quite know what malt loaf is, but it's the stickiest, chewiest teacake I've ever had!
The packaging advises that the loaf is "best served spread with butter or topped with a slice of cheese," and I think that's so that there will be at least one slightly less sticky side to the slice. Seriously, I cannot fully describe how incredibly this stuff sticks to your teeth--definitely worth brushing immediately after finishing your snack. When I asked Jo what kind of cake we were eating, she pulled out the wrapper--I had seen the distinct yellow wrappers in the bakery aisle of Sainsbury's, but since the wrapper completely hides what's inside, I never would have bought any if I hadn't tried it first. It may be insanely sticky, but it's quite yummy too, and I'm glad that Jo gave us our first taste of malt loaf!
